The Gift of Fellowship

“We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.”

~ I John 1:3

The reason God created everything, the reason He gave everything He had for us, was for fellowship.

We need fellowship in our lives.

Fellowship is what we were designed for.

Fellowship is one of the greatest gifts created and given to us by our Heavenly Father.

We Have Fellowship With Christ

When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior and put our faith in Him, He abides in us!

We Have Fellowship With The Father

Because of what Christ did at the cross we have regained access and fellowship with The Father!

There is nothing that can hold us back from God and His love!

We Have Fellowship With The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is our helper, teacher, comforter,

The Holy Spirit fellowships with us!

We Have Fellowship With The Body Of Christ

The Bride of Christ, the Church, is our family!

We are the Bride of Christ- the body of Christ!

All of us are brothers and sisters in Christ and have been given the gift of fellowship with eachother!

We are given the ability to build eachother up, pray with, inspire, help, enjoy, and be with one another!

The gift of fellowship is such a blessing!

Take time today to fellowship with Jesus Christ, The Father, The Holy Spirit, and the Body of Christ!

Choose To Delete Offense

“The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger,

and his glory isto overlook a transgression.”

~ Proverbs 19:11

How do you perceive yourself in light of others?

Do other’s words and actions easily shake and offend the perception you have of yourself, or do you make allowances for other people’s point of view?

Offence is defined as annoyance or resentment brought about by a perceivedinsult to or disregard for oneself or one’s standards or principles.

We can’t always control the initial emotions that try to rise up inside of us, but we do have the choice of entertaining them or not. If we’re not careful, we can choose to become offended at situations that hurt our sense of pride and turn a controllable situation into a train wreck… Or we can choose to delete offense from our lives.

When we stay steadfast in God’s Word, The Holy Spirit empowers us to respond to others out of love and understanding, rather than with harsh words and bitterness.

The opportunity to become offended at people and life’s circumstances will come, but it is up to you whether to take offense or delete the offense from your spirit.

When someone cuts you off in traffice, choose to respond in love rather than offense.

When someone disagrees with your opinion, respond in understanding and peace rather than harsh words.

When someone hurts you, choose to forgive them rather than keeping offense in your heart.

When the Greater One lives on the inside of you, His love and peace is enough to keep you safely above any mental or emotional jab.

Today I encourage you to spend time in the Word of God, and with Him in prayer and let Him help delete all offense from your life.

Relationships Are Worth More Than Gold

“Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.”

~ Colossians 3:13

Have you ever been in a fight with a friend?

Perhaps you made a mistake, and they got mad at you?

Or they made a mistake, and it hurt you?

Maybe you both have differences of opinion?

It can be so easy to push people out of our lives when we feel hurt or attacked. That’s what the enemy wants us to do.

The enemy wants to destroy our relationships and isolate us.After all, when people we love surround us it is so much harder to take us out of the will of God than when we are alone.

Have you noticed that when you are upset with someone there is a veil over your eye that makes everything they do make you even angrier? And then as soon as you talk with them, and mend what was bothering you, everything that you were mad about doesn’t seem as horrible or hurt as much as it did before?

In order to isolate us the enemy will start by encouraging thoughts and feelings of strife, anger, loneliness, hurt, rejection, hatred, and wrath amongst friends, family, and even spouses.

But God does not want us to be alone!God created us to be social people! God knows that we need people in our lives, and he designed us for fellowship:

We need people in our lives to laugh with.

We need people in our lives to cry with.

We need people in our lives to help us through the hard times of life, and celebrate with us in the best times.

We need people to help us carry out the will of God on our lives.

We need people in our lives that are different than we are.

We need people in our lives that believe in us.

We need people in our lives that believe with us.

Today, if there is someone in your life that you are now in strife with, I encourage you to do your part to mend that relationship.

If you are wrong, admit your mistakes and ask for forgiveness. If they did you wrong, forgive them and move past their mistakes.

The time spent apart from your loved ones isn’t worth the time spent in unforgiveness or pride. We need people in our lives.

Relationships are worth more than gold.

Don’t rob your life of the gift of fellowship.
