“Not to us, Lord, not to us, but to your name be given glory on account of your gracious love and faithfulness.”

~ Psalm 115:1

Our salvation does not depend on our worthiness.

Our salvation depends on Christ’s worthiness.

The blessings God gives us are not about how good we are.

The blessings God gives us are about how good God is.

Our lives should not be about us.

Our lives should be about others.

Our plans should not be about us.

Our plans should be about God’s plans.

Our accomplishments should not be about us.

Our accomplishments should be about God’s victory.

Praise should not be given to us.

All praise and glory should be given to God.

Nothing about our lives should be about us.

Everything should be about God, God’s purposes, and God’s love for us.

This isn’t to say that God doesn’t want us to take care of ourselves, or to love ourselves.

God loves to bless us, take care of us, and to know that we are happy, healthy, and well taken care of.

But our first priorities should be to His will of reaching every corner of the earth with His Gospel message of hope, love, and restoration.

This week I encourage you to praise God for His faithfulness, and commit your lives to His love, His purpose, and His plan for your life.
